
The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Apart from the usual men's and ladies' competitions, there will be some women's events. The competition for women
This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. Koski won the overall competition after maintaining her lead all the way. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.
The women's competition is filled with top-level athletes. The field features nine athletes, including a 19 year-old Australian powerhouse who won this competition last year. Kara Saunders of Australia, who was second in Australia and eleventh in the world in 2020, are also contenders. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. Pegboard contest
Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games athletes train by focusing on ten core physical skills: strength, flexibility and speed. Pegboard tests the grip strength and coordination of competitors. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The Pegboard was a fierce competition that left the athletes feeling proud of their accomplishments.
Cutting system
The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. One question that remains is how CrossFit will adjust the points distribution after cuts. It's probable that the scoring table used for the 2019 games will remain nearly the same as the one used in 2021.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. The top 20 competitors then compete for the remaining six events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok has announced new sports shoes, clothing, and other equipment for the CrossFit Games. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They are built to accommodate multiple fitness needs. Reebok calls the shoe "the shoe of health," but it is more like a traditional trainer shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade.
